Whilst away for a few days on a family holiday I managed to take a few shots (well somewhere between 400-500!).
At the place we were staying in the Trossachs there was a lot of wildlife, much of which turned out to be very friendly when food was offered. Each morning there would be ducks below the balcony and little birds flying around waiting to be fed. Seeing as I have my 50mm prime I was able to get some shots with a fast enough shutter speed to capture them in flight.
Here are a few examples:
Of course Aila was more interested in the ducks waiting to be fed below:
Again I am still being amazed at how good the 50mm prime lens is, it truly is fast glass. Only downsides are still the crop factor (as I mentioned previously on my camera this is more like an 85mm lens) and I’m discovering the very shallow depth of field when using the full aperture, hence so much of the photos being out of focus.
