Sunrise on Arbroath Beach
I managed to get a rare opportunity, a chance to get out with the camera. These opportunities sadly seem to be few and far between at the moment so I grabbed it with both hands.
The plan was to get out early so I could capture the sun coming up, unfortunately I slept in so I didn’t have the time I needed to get the destination I had planned on. Instead I opted to stopping short and visit something I’ve been meaning to photograph for a while, a lighthouse in Arbroath and then down to the beach.
Here is the lighthouse pre sunrise:
Then I headed over the footbridge spanning the east coast rail-line:
Before finally getting onto the beach and waiting on the sun rising:
I also visited the lighthouse on the way back to the car and you can see the difference with the sun now being up:
Despite it not being what I had planned and a bit cold I’m glad I managed to get out. At the time I didn’t think I had managed to get any decent shots but after doing some work in the digital darkroom that is LightRoom I have some I really am happy with. This takes time to work on each image and increases my interest in getting some graduated neutral density filters, so hopefully saving time and making it easier to see in camera how the shots are turning out.
